Angie Kaiser for Jo Daviess County Clerk & Recorder

I am pleased to announce my 2018 candidacy for Jo Daviess County Clerk & Recorder. I have lived in Jo Daviess County for the majority of my life and feel fortunate to have been able to do so. I spent most of my childhood in Galena and graduated from GHS, married my husband Kurt, a Menominee native, and we set down our roots here, buying a home and raising four children. Now, our five grandchildren live here as well, so we have a continued, vested interest in this beautiful county of ours. As an adult, I am no stranger to public service. I served four years on the Board of Education for Galena Unit #120 and nine years on the Board of Trustees for Menominee Township. Once our children were old enough, I sought and secured a job with Jo Daviess County as the Chief Deputy County Clerk. It is in that capacity that I have worked for the past twenty-three years, as well as serving on multiple committees, acting as the county's Safety Coordinator, and a two year appointment as the Program Compliance Oversight Manager for public transportation, where we managed to secure federal and state funding to complete a nearly one million dollar addition to our existing Jo Daviess County Transit facility. I was appointed by the County Board to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the County Clerk & Recorder Jean Dimke and I assumed that responsibility on July 1, 2018. As a Republican candidate, I plan to continue the excellent work of my predecessors, because I believe we have created offices that are exemplary in their function and manner. The County Clerk & Recorder has four major functions: (1) tax extender for computing tax rates and the redemption of delinquent taxes; (2) chief election officer for the County; (3) keeper of the County records and (4) Clerk of the County Board. Personnel, vital records, and accounts payable are among the many other duties for which the Clerk & Recorder is responsible. I have been in the service of Jo Daviess County for twenty-three years and my goals are to continue to provide the same level of excellent service this office is known for and to always look for ways to better serve the community.

Meet the Candidate
